Yellow Ball Tournament is a success!

Wow! I’m impressed by how virtually all our golfers showed up prepared to play golf in the rain. It was interesting to see the different styles: Bag umbrellas, rain gear, extra towels, dry gloves, extra gloves, cart rain shields, and etc. I have to admit that after I purchased my rain sheild in the pro shop I was pretty excited “to have an advantage”. That lasted until I saw George Lopez’s fully rain protected golf cart.
It was a challenging day but I bet more people were affected by the wind in the afternoon. Anyway, nice touranment. Thank you to Donn Showers who had everything orgainized like he’s been doing that job for years, not days. Great job Donn!
Now we turn to our February General Meeting (There will be a February Meeting at the request of the members during last month’s meeting) and our next tournament – the Waltz.

Happy New Year – 2012!

I’m looking forward to a great 2012 at Skylinks Mens’ Golf Club. This will be my first year a president and I’m going into this with the intentions of ‘making a difference’. We’ve had some good men leading us in the past and I hope to live up their levels and continue to their contributions. I promise to be a little more ‘wordy’ in the future as we work through our monthly meetings and golf tournaments.
Last I heard, Skylinks will be reverting the course back to it’s original front nine layout. I look forward to that as we enter the new year. Start thinking about attending our
January men’s club meeting where a golf bag will given away.
Please email me with any suggestions that you may have. I assure you that your input will be taken seriously. All suggestions will be shared with the entire board, if you take the time to express your thoughts, I will take the time to make sure the entire board hears your idea.

------------------------------------------QUAD SQUAD 2012 – 4/28/2012

The QUAD tournament is scheduled for 4/28/2012 at Lakewood Country Club.
The tee times available will be 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The QUAD is an annual tournament that is played with representatives from each of the 4 local men’s clubs. Each foursome is comprised of one member from each of the clubs.
There are 3 points for the low net score in the group, two points for second, 1 point for third, and 0 points for 4th. The points for each team are added up until the total 40 teams have scored. The most points takes the trophy for one year.
Our goal is to maintain the possession of the Quad Trophy. The trophy is on display in the proshop at Skylinks.
I am looking for members of SKYLINKS Mens Club that would like to join me in the quest for 2012.
All players must have an established Index to participate.
The cost will be $55.00. There will be a prize for those who win 3 points. We will also have a honey pot for those who score net 70 or less.

We only have 3 months to acquire our team so respond as soon as you can. I am looking for a minimum of 45 players. This will give us 6 alternates.
