Skylinks Netting

At the last General Meeting; a concern was raised on #1 the amount of range balls adjacent to the driving range (#10, and #14). Gary Johnson, Skylinks GM, is working on getting the cart crew to retrieve range balls more frequently. The other concern was the height of the net. The height of this netting is limited due to the proximity of the airport.

We’re still looking for people to honor on our new web-pages that will be launched with the Memorial Tournament. We are honoring those members who have passed away and also those members who have served in the military. Please send me information you have about any of our members who need to be honored within these pages.
Additionally, all members who sign up and have PAID for the Memorial Tournament by March 2 will be entered to win a logo’d Army 3RD Armor Division – Cleveland wedge. This drawing will be held at the General Meeting. You will not have to attend to win the prize, however, we would like to see you there anyway!

TNT Dates!

Here’s our firmed up dates for TNT’s:
8:00 am: Sat, Feb 25 at Chester Washington. Two man best ball.
Cost is $55 and that includes a cart.
10:00 am: Sat, Mar 31 at Knollwood Golf Course. Individual tournament.
Cost is $65.
7:00 am: Sat, Sep 29 at Rio Hondo. Shotgun tournament. Cost is TBD.
I’m working on more events and will get back to you when those events are ‘locked in’. Anybody have an interest in a trip to Primm in the summer?

2011 Team Play Champions

Prior to our February General Meeting, Mike Ortega, a Director of the SCGA and former Skylinks Mens Club President and current Skylinks Mens Club member, presented our winning “C” Flight Champions the trophy for winning the 2011 SCGA Team Play Championship. Nice playing gentlemen; we’re all proud of you.

QUAD SQUAD 2012 – 4/28/2012

The QUAD tournament is scheduled for 4/28/2012 at Lakewood Country Club.
The tee times available will be 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The QUAD is an annual tournament that is played with representatives from each of the 4 local men’s clubs. Each foursome is comprised of one member from each of the clubs.
There are 3 points for the low net score in the group, two points for second, 1 point for third, and 0 points for 4th. The points for each team are added up until the total 40 teams have scored. The most points takes the trophy for one year.
Our goal is to maintain the possession of the Quad Trophy. The trophy is on display in the proshop at Skylinks.
I am looking for members of SKYLINKS Mens Club that would like to join me in the quest for 2012.
All players must have an established Index to participate.
The cost will be $55.00. There will be a prize for those who win 3 points. We will also have a honey pot for those who score net 70 or less.

We only have 3 months to acquire our team so respond as soon as you can. I am looking for a minimum of 45 players. This will give us 6 alternates.
