This years Member-Guest will be our best MG is years! Where to start? The tee prize will be a Skylinks full sized tour towel, Skylinks poker chip ball marker, and a sleeve of Srixon Skylinks Men’s Club logo balls! All players are automatically entered into a grand prize Closest to the Pin for each par 3 where the winner will take home a Cleveland Golf 588 Skylinks logo wedge. All members who bring a guest (not member-member) will be entered to win a dozen Srixon Skylinks Logo balls. We’ll also be getting a meal ticket to be used in the cafe.
Side pots will still be available. All this for the unchanged price of $75 per player!

Tom Richey and I represented Skylinks Men’s Golf Club as well as we could this past Monday at the SCGA Delegate/Presdient Meeting/Golf Tournament. We netted 63 in a Best Ball tournament to capture the Low Net Championship at Calabassas CC! We ham ‘n egged it to perfection. We posted 3 bogeys and also only finished 3 shots back in Low Gross! We also managed to put away stuffed chicken, two sliders, two tacos, about 8 chicken wings, rice, nachos, cheese squares, and to make ourselved feel good – we added a salad, oh, and a piece of cake.

Two New TNT Dates

Negotiations complete. It’s official. Skylinks Men’s Club will play Rancho Park Seniors at Skylinks on Tuesday, May 29th at 8:00 am. This will be a partners best ball team play event. Each club will have 14 players for a match play format.
A rematch will take place at Rancho Park on Wednesday, June 13th at 10:00 am. Same format as the first tournament.
The cost for the first contest will be $50. This is for golf and cart. The cost for the second contest is TBD. Both tournaments will fill up quickly so sign up ASAP by emailing altomgolf@yahoo.com.

10:00 am: Wed, Jun 13 at Rancho Park. Skylinks v. Rancho Park. Partners best ball format. Cost TBD.
7:00 am: Sat, Sep 29 at Rio Hondo. Shotgun tournament. Individual stroke play. Cost is $75 (golf, cart, prize fund, net skins, CTP included).
As of Apr 11, 2012, no one has expressed interest in a club trip to Primm. Let me know where you would like to play and I will check it out.

Byron Nelson Autograhed Book Won!

In honor of this week’s PGA’s HP Bryon Nelson Championship, an autographed copy of Lord Byron’s Winning Golf was won by Al Tom at the General Meeting! In 1945, Mr. Nelson won 18 tournaments and the famed 11 in a row. His scoring average of 68.3 that year was not surpasses until a guy named Tiger Woods came along.
Also, all members in attendance received a ‘buy one – get one free round’ at Skylinks courtesy of Gary Johnson.

May Tournament is a Two Day Event on the 19th and 20th! Deadline is May 9th.

The Past Presidents Tournament is a two day ($110) individual, eclectic event. The format is the lowest net score on each hole for the two days. Example: if you score a net 5 on hole #1 the first day and a net 4 on hole #1 the second day, your score for that hole is 4.
One day players will be accepted ($66) with the condition that the one day score is the score for the tournament and players may be restricted to pairings with other one day players.

Registration and Cancellation Policy
Deadline for Tournament Registration
Deadline for Tournament Registration will be set and posted by the Tournament Director prior to the scheduled tournament. Registration for a tournament is not complete until payment has been received. A surcharge of five dollars ($5) will be imposed on entries received after the deadline. Each additional five dollars ($5) collected will be added to the purse for that tournament.
Tournament Tee Times
Tee time requests are on a first registered, first honored basis.
Cancellation of a Tournament Entry
Cancellations must be in writing, dated and signed. E-mail notification is acceptable.
Refunds
A full refund in the form of ‘Book Money’ will be issued for cancellations prior to the tournament deadline.
A surcharge of eleven dollars ($11) will be imposed on cancellations made after the tournament deadline and prior to forty-eight (48) hours of the first scheduled tee time of the tournament. Each additional eleven dollars ($11) collected will be added to the purse for that tournament. Any balance will be refunded in the form of ‘Book Money’.
No refund will be issued for cancellations made less than forty-eight (48) hours of the first scheduled tee time of the tournament.
No refund will be issued for cancellations of Membership.
